In an effort to further enhance communication between the campus community and Administration and Finance staff, and respond to requests for increased personal interaction with division staff, we have established what I like to refer to as “Account Representatives” for several functional areas in the division.
In general, these Account Representatives will serve as initial points of contact for a particular department or function and should be the first person you contact regarding questions or concerns you may have. These individuals will consult with others in the department on your behalf regarding specialized questions or concerns outside their expertise. This approach will allow you and Administration and Finance staff to know each other better and allow our staff to become more knowledgeable and expert in the needs, processes, and cycles of your area of operation and which should improve service levels. As part of this approach, service provided to the respective departments will be important criteria in evaluating Administration and Finance staff performance.
For those who prefer to continue to utilize “DL” email communication (e.g., DL Procurement), existing DL email addresses will continue to be available, at least for some time. We will evaluate DL email usage early next calendar year, after the Account Representative approach has been active for a while, to determine whether DL email communication continues to add value to the campus community. Should we determine changes are appropriate, you will be notified before any changes occur.
As you can see from the attached listings, Account Representatives for Budget Operations and Payroll have been identified by division/subdivision. Please direct all budget and payroll questions for your particular area to these individuals as identified. For Contracts and Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounting Services, and Human Resources, contacts are identified by functional area. Over time, we plan to migrate Contracts and Procurement and Human Resources contacts by functional area to generalist contacts assigned to campus division/subdivisions, similar to Budget Operations and Payroll. In the interim, however, we believe functional contacts will provide the highest level of service and support. As a reminder, please do not forget to also involve your division/college budget and/or human resource coordinators as appropriate.
These contacts also will be posted on the appropriate departmental websites and will be updated as assignments change. As always, please let me know if you have questions or concerns regarding these contacts.
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Willie
